LAUREN PROVENCHER, LMSW, CTP-C

Clinical Therapist

Lauren completed Wayne State University’s Master of Social Work program in 2011, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and interpersonal relationships. Her interest in understanding the impact of stress and trauma on the brain and body ultimately led to her credentials as a Certified Trauma Practitioner. She has also completed courses related to mindfulness, meditation, and sensory intervention. Lauren recognizes the importance of restoring health physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. She feels confident that with her skill set and experience, she can help guide your journey of self-discovery and growth!

When individuals experience trauma or severe life stressors it is common for those experiences to impact multiple facets of one's life. Ronit completed Wayne State University's Master of Social Work Program in 2015, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Ronit began her career working in the inpatient hospital setting utilizing Dialectical Informed Therapy (DBT) informed practice working with patients to learn the basic skills taught in DBT. Working in the inpatient setting allowed her to gain experience working with adolescents, adults and families struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, life transitions and relationship issues. Ronit uses a strengths based, client centered, solution focused approach to create a safe place for healing and resolution.

Ashley completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work from The University of Michigan in 2010 and has TF-CBT training to specialize in working with individuals who have experienced a traumatic event. She strives to be an approachable, non-judgmental, and empathetic therapist, who works to empower clients. She works with a wide range of adults and families working on behavioral and/or impulse control issues, persons with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and affirming the LGBTQ+ self-discovery process. Ashley also enjoys working with families to increase more effective communication. In addition Ashley facilitates the LGBTQ2S youth group at Peace of Mind Therapy and Stress Reduction.

She began her career working in an inpatient hospital setting and transitioned to a Partial Hospitalization Program. In both of these settings, Jessica utilized Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) informed principles where she helped individuals become more mindful of their thoughts, emotions and behaviors by teaching skills to better manage mood symptoms, communicate effectively and navigate life transitions. Danielle’s focus in her work is to help people feel seen and understood. She believes the therapeutic relationship and having a nonjudgmental space is fertile soil for growth and improvement in one’s life. Danielle specializes in emotion and stress regulation, mindfulness, DBT-informed concepts and skills, management of depression and anxiety, and improvement of the relationship with one’s self through compassion. Erin completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Wayne State University in 2019 with a primary focus of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and substance use disorders. Post graduate, Erin has found pleasure in learning about many other modalities and has enjoyed incorporating them into her clinical practice. Some of her areas of study have included Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, Relational Theory, Gestalt and Attachment based theories. Erin’s most recent endeavor has included training in couples therapy. She is a Level 2 trained Gottman Method therapist and has enjoyed learning more about the treatment of trauma through couples work. She has experience working with children, adolescents and adults suffering from a wide variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, life stress/transitions, addiction, ADHD, and shame, to name a few. Erin provides affirming care to diverse and minority populations including those in the LGBTQ+ community.

Using a holistic and person centered approach, often pulling from many theories and methods, Erin is able to tend to the unique needs of each individual and cultivate a personalized healing experience for her clients. Working from an open and curious space, Erin is able to create a warm and welcoming container to explore the full realm of what it means to be human in a non-judgmental and compassionate way.

JENNA RUFFIN

Jenna Ruffin is in her advanced year as a Master’s in Social Work student specializing in interpersonal practice at Wayne State University. She is currently interning at Peace of Mind as part of her program requirements. In 2019, she worked at a community mental health center for three years, working with individuals who experienced substance misuse, and mental health issues. Since then, she has worked at a private practice in Canton that focuses on infant mental health, and as of the fall of 2023, has been working with the team here at Peace of Mind. Her goal as a therapist is to create a safe environment for individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, gender identity, religious trauma, life transitions, and relationship issues. Jenna focuses on using strength-based approach, that is client centered, while using motivational interviewing to assist each individual with their current life struggles. Jenna is passionate about working with mothers in their pregnancy and postpartum journey while navigating the life changes involved with motherhood. She is interested in working with adults 18+ and is currently accepting new clients. Jenna looks forward to working with you!
